Adios April, you’ve been good to us. Seriously, April was full of extraordinary.
It felt like this month went on and on for a long while, and not that it was a bad thing, I just couldn’t ever remember what day it was lol. Definitely a busy month, but I feel we accomplished quite a lot and I’m very proud of the progress.
We had a show at the beginning of the month in Holland, Michigan, at the Civic Center and we did really well! It was the perfect start to the month with a boost of profit and socializing with some new (and old!) customers. We met some lovely local artisans who turned into new friends, we saw some precious little babies and their mommas, and the weather was beautiful when the market was over. All around a win-win. Thanks, Holland!
The vendor show was great, but my personal favorite moment of this month was reaching over 1,000 Facebook page likes!! I’m still way excited about it and it’s been well over a few weeks now lol. We were watching the numbers grow day by day and when it was close to 900, I had a feeling it would pull all the way to 1,000 by the end of the month… and it sure did! To know we’re reaching people all over the United States is a really unique and fulfilling experience. This gives me so much more opportunity for marketing in the near future and I’ve already got some ideas and plans in the works. It was the perfect boost of confidence we needed! Many thanks to everyone that has liked or shared some of our posts. It’s never unnoticed nor unappreciated!
After the show and during the Facebook-like saga, I spent the last two weeks leading up to May going through ALL of our inventory. If you wanna talk about tedious, there ya go.. I wanted to get a better idea of where we stand with each of our items in hopes to create new items out of the product we already have (did someone say blankets??). We are running quite low on anything with a raccoon on it and to possibly come out with a new design, I had to start pulling out of the warehouse to check quantities. So, it’s safe to say my office is an organic cotton war zone (see photo for proof lol). An organized mess of sorts. I’m nowhere near finished but I’ve made a decent sized dent. It’s honestly been a little therapeutic to just sit here and count and fold all these tiny articles of clothing, but I can’t leave out the fact that I logged in several hours of Law and Order SVU to my brother’s Hulu account in the process. What can I say? A girl’s gotta get her Detective Stabler fix somehow. #sorrynotsorry
As always, I want to inform ya’ll of our upcoming market-s! Yes, we have more than one in May! I will be working the first show solo and Danielle will be running the second one. Perfect timing with Mother’s Day coming up, especially if you know any young or expecting mothers. Here are the deets, my friends!:
Saturday, May 4th – Indie Flea GR hosted by The Vendor Exchange, LLP, the Wealthy Theatre, & the Indie Flea Grand Rapids
Sale times: 10am – 4pm // Free entry
1130 Wealthy St SE
Grand Rapids, Michigan 49506
This is the last Indie Flea Grand Rapids event of the season! Enjoy live music from the band cloudlight while you shop local Michigan makers and sip on drink donations from Bloom Ferments. This event is specifically dedicated to creating a strong community that supports responsible businesses as well as spending quality time with family. Each vendor will have a “Purpose Statement” displayed with the small steps they’ve taken in their business towards positive local, social, or environmental change. This event is also working towards a zero-waste process with a very restrictive policy of single-serving uses of plastic and encourage recycling as much as possible. Shop Local. Shop Indie. Shop Conscious. Come see me (and my momma!) at this one!

This is our second event with Merchants and Makers and their third spring event at Baker Lumber! Our first go-around was a great experience and the events are quite laid back as all the sales typically start in the afternoon and end in the evening. Join Snoots and 40+ local merchants for a wonderful night of music, shopping, food and fun, of course! Bri Baron Music will be performing for the night and Righteous Cuisine, D & D’s Gluten-Free, and Voyáge Juice Co. will have their food trucks available for all your hunger needs! Come visit Danielle and spend your Saturday evening in a cool atmosphere. It’s sure gonna be a blast!
So, April was one for the books and May is sizing up to be just as busy and new and I couldn’t be more excited but also grateful. Yet again, I sit here and appreciate just how different each month is but how they’re all perfect in their own little ways. What a journey it’s been and what a journey it will continue to be. Thank You, Jesus, for such an opportunity as this and for the many, many intricately special changes it’s brought to my life. I will forever be thankful for all it has taught me.
Get ready for the May update… I have a feeling it’ll include some greatness to write about 🙂 XO,
